The Certified Public Accountants examination (CPA) is conducted by the AICPA (American institute of certified public accountants). Depending upon the candidate’s state of registration in the USA, the certification is issued by that State Board of Accountancy. The uniform CPA examination is offered in Japan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates, apart from fifty states in the United States of America. Citizens, permanent residents and long-term residents of these and the neighboring countries can take up the exam at these countries. The eligibility criterion is a CA, CWA, M.Com degree or B.Com. However, it is necessary to get one’s eligibility verified by the NASBA before proceeding on to pursue CPA.
The CPA examination will be conducted through the CBT-e (computer based training – Evolution) with a credit-allotment of 75 points (on a scale of 0 – 99).
